Emma Lou Akers, age 95, of Banner, KY, widow of Odis Akers, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 at her residence. She was born January 30, 1930 in Dana, KY, a daughter of the late Delzie and Goldie Mae Boyd Conn. She was a member of the Prater Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by one son; Benjamin (Genevieve) Akers, Banner, KY, two daughters; Kathy Wallen, Mt. Sterling, KY and Patricia Akers, Banner, KY, three brothers; Hubert Conn, Banner, KY, Garland (Ann) Conn, Shepherdsville, KY and Linzie Jr. (Sandra) Conn, Banner, KY, four grandchildren; Angela (Keith) Parker, O.J. Wallen, Melanie (Dave) Noe and Jillynn Akers, nine great grandchildren; Brandon, Dustin, Jimmy Lee, Makita, Tommy, Jared, Braxton, Kamryn and Garrett, five great-great grandchildren; Waylon, Ivy, Adara, Jaylen and Caedyn.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son; Christopher Akers, one daughter; Patty Sue Akers, two brothers; Bascom Conn and Linzie L. Conn, two grandsons; Jason Akers and Tommy Wallen and one son-in-law; Shannon Wallen.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Steven Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
