Ellis Paul Garrett, age 79, of Martin, KY, husband of the late Betty Ruth Webb Pack, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, KY. He was born May 1, 1946 in Emma, KY, to the late Amos and Audrey Goble Garrett. He was a former coal miner and tree cutter.
He is survived by two sons; Ellis Paul Garrett, Jr. and Mark Anthony Garrett, both of Martin, KY, one daughter; Regina Sue Carroll, Martin, KY, three brothers; Michael Garrett, Prestonsburg, KY, Gary Garrett, Stanville, KY and Lester Garrett, Paintsville, KY, four grandchildren; Lavonna (John) Carroll, Betty (Paul) Mullins, Toni (Woody) Ward, and Shelby Garrett, nine great grandchildren; Aliyah (Austin) Thornsberry, Tianna, Reagan, TJ, Marley, Thomas, Taylynn, Bobby and PJ.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Donald Ray, Charles Eddie and Scotty Garrett, two sisters; Diane Smith and Ruby Stratton.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 3 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Halbert Cemetery, Printer, KY, visitation is from 6 until 10 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
