Elizabeth Scott Ferguson

Elizabeth Scott Ferguson passed away at her home surrounded by family on March 23, 2023 at the age of 67 after an extended illness. She leaves behind her loving husband Victor Ferguson of 36 years, and her children, Victor “Duke” (Katie) Ferguson II of Lexington; Emily Ferguson of Paris; Leann Ferguson (Hazim) Rishmawi of Nicholasville; and, Alicia Ferguson (Zack) McMillian of Cumming, Georgia, all of whom she was very proud. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Karis Rishmawi, Alexandria Rishmawi, Hope Rishmawi, Madelyn Rishmawi, Barrett McMillian and Victor “Tripp” Ferguson, III.

She is also survived by her brother Hawley Daniel (Karen) Scott of Georgetown, three nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith “Slug” (Anna) Scott Jr.; sister, Amy Bernice Scott; Mother, Helen Hicks Scott; and Father, Keith Scott.

Born in 1955, she lived most of her life in Floyd, Johnson and Bourbon Counties. Wherever she resided, she was a well-loved community member who always provided love and support for her family and friends. She was an unusually talented artist and always had an eye for making things beautiful, especially her flower gardens. She spent 17 years at Citizens National Bank before leaving for her true calling, to be a mother. She was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Her family invites you to join them for a celebration of life 1:00pm Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Old Paint Primitive Baptist Church, 15528 Hwy 172, West Liberty, Kentucky 41472. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 9:00pm Saturday and from 11:00am to 1:00pm Sunday at the church. Burial will follow in the Skaggs – Ferguson Cemetery, Martha, Kentucky. Jonathan Rigsby will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association (Alz.org).
