Elizabeth Duff Obituary

Elizabeth Mae Childers Duff, age 88, of Hueysville, KY, wife of 69 years to James Arville Duff, passed away Monday April, 26, 2021 at her residence.  She was born November 6, 1932 in Garrett, KY, a daughter of the late William Henry and Clara Petry Childers.  She was a member of the Huesyville Church of Christ, the Eastern Star, and a  former member of the Lackey-Garrett-Wayland Women's Club.  She was also a retired business owner and operator, with Duff's Grocery, Right Beaver Food Market and True Value Hardware.

 

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters; Dr. Reva Tackett Guiler, Lexington, KY, Rita Ann (Larry Joe) Osborne, and Karen Rene (Dewey) Bentley all of Hueysville, KY, one sister; Edna Frances Banks, Columbus, OH, six grandchildren; Matt Guiler, Erin (Freddy) Acevedo, Zachary Guiler, Cody (Jen) Guiler, Kyra Michelle Osborne and  Kortney Rae Osborne Brown, four great grandchildren; Joaquin, Levi, Cameron, Niko and one on the way.

 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; William "Bill" and Samuel M. Childers, four sisters; Edith Louise West, Phyllis Tackett, Barbara Childers and Betty Jane Lawson, two sons-in-law; Dr. David Scott Guiler and Denzil Ray Hall, one granddaughter; Olivia Nikole Hall and one grandson-in-law; James Edward Brown.

 

 

The family will have a private graveside service.

 

 

In Lieu of Flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to Appalachian Hospice Care, PO Box 277, Hager Hill, KY 41222 or the Hueysville Church of Christ, PO Box 25, Garrett, KY 41630.
