Earl Waugh, 91, of Winchester, KY, passed on to his heavenly home September 30th, 2025 in Prestonsburg, KY. Reverend Earl Waugh, known as Brother Waugh, faithfully served the Lord for over 60 years. His legacy of faith continues through the many lives he led to Christ and the leaders he mentored.
Earl was born on May 21, 1934 to Fenton and Faye Waugh of Huntington, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings Okey Waugh, Elton Waugh, and Harlan Waugh. Surviving siblings are his brother Paul Bernard “Bud” Waugh and sister Mary Hearld.
Earl married Mary Jo Ronk on July 13, 1957, and together they raised 4 children, Jerry, Christopher, Julia, and Jason.
Earl is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Waugh; his four children: Jerry Waugh (Marcia), Christopher Waugh (Angie), Julia Waugh-Vice (Charles), and Jason Waugh (Dot Kerr). His nine grandchildren are: Kyle Greene (Desiree), Rachel Vause (Todd), Britney Maines (Carman), Krista Horning (Rodney), Joshua Waugh (Susie), Austin Vice, Kristian Maynard (Aaron), Brett
Waugh (Natalie), and Jordan Waugh. His legacy also includes fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be October 4, 2025 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Central Baptist Church, 101 W Lexington Avenue, Winchester, KY 40391. Funeral services will be October 4, 2025 at 12:00 pm immediately following the visitation. Interment will follow at the Winchester Cemetery, 625 W. Lexington Ave, Winchester, KY 40391.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Greene, Austin Vice, Joshua Waugh, Brett Waugh, Jordan Waugh, and Rodney Horning. Honorary Pallbearers are the staff at Boonesboro Trail Senior Living of Winchester, KY, and Prestonsburg Health Care for their caring devotion the last several years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allen Baptist Church, 354 US-23, Prestonsburg, KY 41653; Allansville Baptist Church, 1270 Red River Road, Winchester, KY 40391; Central Baptist Church, Winchester, KY; or the Gideons (Earl was gifted a Bible from a Gideon when he was a young teenager and that began his servitude in ministry).
