Douglas Arthur Hicks, age 84, of Hueysville, KY, husband of Barbara Adkins Hicks, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at his residence. He was born March 09, 1942 in Lackey, KY a son of the late Edward and Tina "Tiny" Reffett Hicks. He was a member of the Hueysville Church of Christ, a retired Blasting Inspector for the State of Kentucky, and a US Army Veteran,
Along with his wife, Barbara, he is survived by one son; Alan Douglas (Melissa) Hicks, Louisville, KY, two daughters; Pamela Ann (Jimmy) Smith, Prestonsburg, KY, Lisa Jane (Ricky) Music, Hueysville, KY, five grandchildren; Justin Matthew (Sondra) Collins, Steven Michael Smith, Joshua Aaron (Brianna) Music, Stephanie Renea Music, Kimberley Nichole Music, two step-grandchildren; Maressa Holbrook, Melissa Biehl, six great-grandchildren; Jade, Ryland, Eloise, Autumn, Yardlee, Fran, and four step-great-grandchildren; Breanna, Giselle, Sebastian, Theodore.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers; Henry Edward (Junior) Hicks, Oakie Stamper, Larry Hicks, Roger Hicks, James Danny Hicks, and two sisters; Delores Smith and Linda Sue Chandler.
Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Chester Varney officiating. Burial will follow the East Gate Memory Gardens, Eastern KY. Visitation is after 6 PM Friday, after 10 AM Saturday and Sunday at Hall Funeral Home.
