Doris Akers, age 93, of Dana, KY, widow of Ervin Akers, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1931 in Banner, KY, a daughter of the late James and Bertha Meade Williams. She was a member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by one son; Jimmy Allen (Sharon) Akers, Dana, KY, two daughters; Teresa Ann (Dwight) Carpenter, Jackson, KY and Gwendlyn (Craig) Davis, Dana, KY, five grandchildren; Jason Craig (Amy) Akers, Richard Shane (Jennifer Harkness) Carpenter, Dr. Michelle Renee (John Duggins) Carpenter, Myra Brooke (Dr. Grady) Stephens and Olivia Corrinne Davis, seven great grandchildren; Kaitlyn Alexandra, Connor McKinley, Elizabeth Claire, Thomas Riley, Sophia Renee, Mia Addison and Ava Cheyenne, also one sister-in-law; Lora Williams.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Forrest "Pete", John S. and Billy A. Williams, one sister; Kathryn Akers, two grandsons; Jonathan Seth and Joshua Blake Davis.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Akers Family Cemetery, Dana, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
