Donnie Thomas Burke Sr.

Donnie Thomas Burke Sr., age 78, of Martin, KY, husband of Billie J. Ferrell Burke, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center, Hazard, KY.  He was born July 6, 1945 in Van, WV, a son of the late Emory and Bessie Goble Burke.  He was a self-employed electrician and a US Army veteran.

In addition to his wife, Billie, he is survived by one son; Donnie Thomas (Traci) Burke Jr., Langley, KY, three daughters; Vanessa Groneck, Bellevue, KY, Sabrina (Lee) Boyd, Allen, KY and Pamela Burke, Martin, KY, one brother; Jay Burke, Pineville, KY, seven grandchildren; Cody Boyd, Braxton Burke, Mary Groneck, Colin Boyd, Molly Boyd, Sarah Boyd and TeGhan Burke, two great grandchildren; Ivy and Waylon Akers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Bill Burke, James Burkett and Everett Burkett Jr., two sisters; Betty Compton and Ruby Keefer.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Lee Boyd and Gary Jarrell officiating.  Visitation is from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
