Donna Sue (McKinney) Sturgill

             Donna Sue Sturgill, age 77, of Betsy Layne, KY, widow of Arnold "Bert" Sturgill passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the St Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born December 27, 1945 in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Orville and Opal Kidd McKinney. She was a member of the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church and active in the church's Ladies Auxiliary.

  She is survived by one son: Arnold Sturgill, Jr. (Linda), Betsy Layne, KY; one step son: Michael Darrell Sturgill, Paintsville, KY; one step daughter: Karen Lynn Howard, Hueysville, KY; one Daughter at Heart: Marellen Adkins (Ray), Honaker, KY; three step sisters; Edith (Jerry) Butcher, Cheryl Beeman and Gail Wyatt, one step brother; Clyde (Carolyn) Meadows, one grandchild; Kyle, six step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild.

            In addition to her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by one step son: Ricky Joe Sturgill; one step daughter: Sharon Jean Smith; two brothers: Junior and Carl McKinney; four sisters: Helen Ledbetter, Juanita McKinney, Avanell Frasure, Sylvia Ramey, one step sister; Betty Beverly and one step grandchild.

    Funeral service will be conducted Monday, June 26, 2023 at 12 noon at the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church, Betsy Layne, KY with Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY and visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
