Dewey L Bentley

    Dewey L. Bentley, age 80, of Hueysville, KY, husband of Karen Duff Bentley, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Signature Healthcare, Prestonsburg, KY. He was born July 23, 1944 in Mallie, KY son of the late Ellis and Dolly Short Bentley. Dewey was a retired Social Worker and member of the Hueysville Church of Christ.

  Along with his wife, Karen, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Jody (Sheryl) Bentley, Big Stone Gap, VA, Jon (Dr. Emily) Bentley, Lexington, KY, one brother; DeVoist Bentley, Mallie, KY, four grandchildren; Alexander Blake and Nicholas Bryan Bentley, Ellen Marie and Anna Louise Bentley, special adopted granddaughters; Caroline Everly and Camila Ryan Jarrell; sisters-in-law; Glenda Bentley, Dr. Reva Guiler, Rita (Larry Joe) Osborne, and host of nephews, nieces, church family and special friends

  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Glen Bentley, sister in law; Martha Bentley, Mother of his sons; Mary Laytart, Father and Mother in law; James A and Elizabeth Duff, brother in law; Dr. Scott Guiler, nephews; Dean Bentley and James Brown.

   Memorial service for Dewey L. Bentley will be conducted Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 12 noon in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Chester Varney officiating. Visitation is from 11 AM until 12 noon Saturday at Hall Funeral Home.
