Deanna (Newsom) Shelton

Deanna Newsom Shelton, age 75, of Garrett, KY, wife of the late Cecil Shelton, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Hazard ARH. She was born September 6, 1948 in Hi Hat, KY, a daughter of the late Emmett and Lula Bentley Newsom. She was a member of the Drift Pentecostal Church and was retired from the Business Office of McDowell ARH.  

She is survived by three daughters; Tangie (Kevin) Clatworthy, Garrett, KY, Claudia LuAnn (Billy) Smith, Barbourville, KY and Samantha (Billy) Hall, Lawrenceburg, KY, ten grandchildren; Kassidy Clatworthy, Hunter Clatworthy, Karlee Clatworthy, Derrick Smith, Hannah Smith, Jacob Hall, Wesley Hall, Madelyn Smith, Bradlee Hall and Bentlee Hall, four great grandchildren; Kingsley, Axel, Lexi, and Ruxton Smith.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Drift Pentecostal Church, Drift KY, with Ted Shannon and Shawn Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in the Drift Cemetery, Drift, KY, visitation is after 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 16, and all day Wednesday, January 17, at the Church, under the directions of Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
