Darlena S. (Salisbury) Martin

Darlena S. Martin, age 96, of Drift, KY, widow of the late James Martin, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025 at her home in Drift, KY. She was born March 11, 1929 in Drift, KY, a daughter of the late Thomas & Myrtle (Spencer) Salisbury. Mrs. Martin was a retired school teacher with the Floyd County School District having over 35 years of teaching experience.

She is survived by 5 nieces: Jeannie Tyler, Milwaukee, WI, Linda Manco (Tim), Loretta Gipson (Paul), Barbara Salisbury, & Deborah Lucio (Fernando), all of Elizabethtown, KY; 9 great nieces & nephews: William Simpson (Sherry), Christopher Manco, Jessica Decker, Nathan Manco, Paul Gipson (Sarah), Lauren Gipson, Daniel Gipson (Mary), Vale Lucio & Devon Lucio; 10 great-great nieces & nephews: Corinne Byers (Brandon), Cara Simpson, Christian Simpson, Gunner Decker, Gauge Decker, Madison Gipson, Emma Gipson, Anderson Gipson, Charlotte Gipson, Benjamin Gipson; and one great-great-great nephew: Judah Byers

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by three brothers; Ray E. Salisbury, Harold R. Salisbury, & Roy E. Salisbury

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Jett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY, visitation is from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
