Daphne Moore, age 86, of Langley, KY, wife of Bennie Moore, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at her residence. She was born September 17, 1937 in Goslin Fork of Goose Creek, a daughter of the late Garland and Nora Pratt Martin. She was a member of the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church, a homemaker, seamstress and florist.
In addition to her husband Bennie, she is survived by two sons; Greg (Barbara) Moore, and Jeff (Yvette) Moore, Virgie, KY, two daughters; Beverly Moore Scott, Nashville, TN and Shauna Moore, Winchester, KY, one sister; Daina Purvis, Eminence, KY, eleven grandchildren; Misty (James) Curry, Heath Scott, Amber (Mark) Purvis, Lisa Ferrell, Tasha Ferrell, Angel Ferrell, Kane Moore, Luke Moore, Alyssa (Cody) Necessary, Kaylee Moore and Ashton Dooley, eight great-grandchildren; Brody Curry, Grayson Curry, Adaleigh Scott, Tyreese Scott, Rylan Purvis, Presley Purvis, Bennie Ferrell, and Bennett Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Ruth Ann Moore, three brothers; Gaylord, Thomas E. and Chalmer Ike Martin, three sisters; Fonda Joan Duff, Glema Gay Moore and June Martin, one great-grandson; Nikolai Gage Necessary.
Visitation for close family will be at 5:00 p.m. and for all other friends and loved ones starting at 6 p.m. Friday, with church service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Willie Duff and Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Harry Lee Moore Cemetery, Garrett, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday, with church service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
