Clinton Akers Obituary

 

Clinton “Clint” Akers, age 88, of Nicholasville, KY, husband of Lucille “Lucy” Akers, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 in Baptist Health Center, Lexington, KY. He was born January 27, 1931 in Dana, KY, a son of the late Farley and Ora Akers Akers. He was a member of the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church, Mayflower Baptist Church, Johns Creek and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Nicholasville. He was a retired office manager with Columbia Gas Co. and served as a teachers aide at the Prater Elementary School.

 

In addition to his wife, Lucy, he is survived by one daughter: Dana Clinette (Matt) Maloy, Harrodsburg, Ky, one sister; “Mag” Stalnaker, Zanesville, OH, three grandchildren; Alashia McKinney, Brance McKinney and Matalyn Maloy and one brother in law; Gordon Boyd.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.

 

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, September 13, at the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church, Prater Creek, Dana, KY with Tim McClanhan and Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, Lexington, KY. Visitation is Wednesday after 5:00 pm and all day Thursday at the church.
