Clara Jean Ellis, age 79, of Welllington, KY, formerly of Floyd County, wife of Bucky D. Ellis, died Monday, October 30, 2023 in Martin, KY. She was born September 29, 1944 in Martin, KY a daughter of the late Lenville "Doc" and Bertie Slone Maddox. Clara was a retired school teacher and taught at West Liberty Elementary.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Lenville (Beverly) Martin, Martin, KY, and three grandsons; Tyler (Emily) Martin, Andrew Martin and Jacob Martin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Brian David Ellis.

Visitation for Clara Jean Ellis will be conducted Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 11 AM until 3 PM at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY
