Charlotte Anne O’Keefe Gregory, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was born on March 31, 1932, in Maysville, Kentucky, and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Arna Gregory, Jr., father, Clarence Byrne O’Keefe, and mother, Louise Bendel Hunsicker O’Keefe. Mrs. Gregory is survived by her daughters Anne Louise Mills (David) and Charlotte Keane Hale (Ben), three grandchildren, John Arna Gregory Mills, Anthony David Mills, Jr. (Kristine), and Charlotte Anne Hale Sexton (Matt), and four great-grandchildren, Turner Reed Mills, Carson Anthony Mills, James "Jay" Archer Sexton, and Hank Matthew Sexton.
Mrs. Gregory graduated from Maysville High School in 1950 and Centre College in Danville, Kentucky in 1954. She taught at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky from 1954 to 1956. She moved to Murray, Kentucky with her husband in 1959, where she lived until February 2025. Mrs. Gregory was a member of the Murray Women’s Club Sigma Department, an elder of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Alumni Board of Directors of Centre College of Kentucky, a member of Chapter M of PEO, a member of the Murray Magazine Club, and a member of the Presbyterian Women of the First Presbyterian Church.
She will have a graveside service at the Resthaven Cemetery in Harlan Kentucky, where she will be laid to rest in the Gregory family plot beside her husband. Expressions of sympathy can be made to First Presbyterian Church Outreach, 1601 Main Street, Murray, Ky.
