Charlene "Charley" Nunn Obituary

 Charlene "Charley" Embry Nunn, age 76, of Prestonsburg, KY wife of Paul D. Nunn, died Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born February 16, 1944 in Louisville, KY a daughter of the late Kenneth Earl and Mary Dorcas Pruitt Embry. Charlene was a retired School Teacher and Educator who taught in Franklin, Jefferson, Johnson, and Floyd counties during her career, she was a Day Care Director at the Baptist Learning Center, First Baptist Church-Prestonsburg, Irene Cole Memorial, where she was also a member. Additionally, she was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and was actively involved in "Hope in the Mountains", Gods Appalachian Partnership, and the two cancer centers at Highlands Regional ARH. 

   In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Gretchen Renee (Alan Joe) Gullett, Prestonsburg, one brother; Donald (Shirley) Embry, Mayfield, KY, three grandchildren; Embry Gullett, William Alan Gullett, Joseph Lindon (Karrington) Gullett, a host of nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, Erwin "Dubbie" Odle, Conway, SC and Jay McIntire, Frankfort, KY whom she thought of as a son. 

   She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Joseph Paul Nunn, and one sister, Phyllis Odle. 

  A family graveside service is planned for Sunday, May 10, 2020 in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY. Hall Funeral Home, Martin, is caring for those arrangements.
