Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson, age 100, of Dema, KY, husband of the late Frona Johnson, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at his residence.  He was born May 5, 1924 in Kite, KY, a son of the late Caleb B. and Angeline Hall Johnson.  He was a retired truck driver and business owner.

He is survived by three sons; Carl Ray (Shirley) Johnson, Paul Dean Johnson and Clark Johnson all of Dema, KY, three daughters; Shirley (Tivis) Hall, May Belle (Donnie) Newsome and adopted daughter Raegan Paige Johnson all of Dema, KY, eight grandchildren; Joyce Mullins, Jayson Hall, Misty Anderson, Daniel Johnson, Melanie Little, Heather Pigman, Caleb Johnson and Jonathan Johnson, thirteen great grandchildren; Bradley, Jaylan, Maloree, Lucas, Maylee, Charlee, Raegan, Colin, Saylor, Austin, Karlie, Natalie and Lexie.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by four brothers; William "Wid", George, Estill and Kanawha Johnson, three sisters; Rosanna Thornsberry, Zettie Bates and Lettie Bates. 

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Hall Funeral Home, with Curtie Hall and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Dema, KY, visitation is Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, under the directions of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
