Burl Shannon Scott

Burl Shannon Scott, age 80, of Martin, KY, husband of Grace Dingus Scott, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Russell, KY. He was born November 8th, 1942 in Garrett, KY, a son of the late Ewing & Sallie Hicks Scott. Burl was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired coalminer.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son; Brandon Spencer (Becky) Scott ,  one daughter; Courtney Brooke Scott (Brian) Castle, two brothers; Wincell Scott, Bruce (Kathy) Scott, two sisters; Vicki (Greg) Crow, Carol (Gale) Castle, four grandchildren; Garrett Von Anderson, Emma Leeah Castle, Jackson Scott Castle, Kaden Philip Christian Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Paul Scott, two sisters; Geraldine Rench, Vivian Vanderpool.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of  Latter-day Saints Martin, KY. Burial will follow in the Dingus Cemetery, Hite Road, Martin, KY, visitation is after 6:00 pm Monday September 25, 2023, and Tuesday from 4:00pm till 9:00pm, at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY under the directions of the Hall Funeral Home.
