"Bub" Boyd

William Delayne “Bub” Boyd, age 49, of Prestonsburg, KY, husband of Michelle Leigh Lewis Boyd, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Highlands ARH, Prestonsburg, KY.  He was born November 23, 1974 in Pikeville, KY, the son of Josephine Akers Boyd, Dana, KY and the late William Green “Wig” Boyd.  He was employed by Diversified Energy.

“Bub” was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and enjoyed visiting various churches, he was also an avid outdoorsman and especially loved to hunt and fish.  He was a member of the KY Team Trail, Appalachian Tournament Trail, Dewey Lake Bass Fishing, he also fished and was active in “Casting for Kids” and enjoyed fishing in the Big Bass Splash.  He was also active in Little League for many years coaching and helping shape the lives of many young people.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by three sons; Stevie (Autumn) Boyd, Berea, KY, Ryan (Bailey Slone) Conn, Banner, KY and Tyler (Lindsay) Conn, Georgetown, KY, one daughter; MacKenzie Alexis Boyd, Allen, KY, one sister; Sygonda (Rudy) Boyd, Dana, KY, sister-in-law; Donna (Scott) Reed, Banner, KY, one grandson; Jackson Delayne Boyd, nieces, Morgan, Ashley, Brittany, Ashley, Amy, Gracie, Tessa, Kimberly, Kinlee and Kayden, nephews; Brady, Austin, Chris, Avery, Aaron and Isaac.

“Bub” is also survived by his special friends; Shawn Boyd, Breck and Heather Hammond, Russell Kidd, Franklin Boyd, Jamie Smith, Vince, Kory, Chatlin, & Brandon Jarrell, Scott Reed, Rudy Boyd, Barry Clark, Sonny Boyd, Justin Kidd, Ricky Boyd, Dave Gillam, Jason Williamson, Mike & Suzie Jervis, Randy Newsome, Nathan Harless, Bobo Martin, Byron, Ethan, Kevin, the late Hunter Hammond and also all of his work family at Diversified.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law: Kimberly Hall.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Barry Clark, Sonny Boyd, James Michael Lafferty, Mike Hammond, and Nathan Harless officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
