Billy R. Fraley

Billy Ronald Fraley, age 82, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Avon, Indiana.  He was born December 6, 1941 in Lancer, KY, a son of the late Challie and Alta Montgomery Fraley. 

He was of the Baptist Faith and graduated from Prestonsburg High School and Morehead State University.  He was an Art teacher for 32 years at Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, OH.  After retiring from teaching he worked at The Ohio Theater as a Usher, he worked there from 1997 until 2005.  He also volunteered at Mt. Carmel St Ann’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.  Billy loved the fact he was from Eastern, KY.  He was both and Honorary Kentucky Colonel and an Honorary Coal Barron.

He is survived by his adopted nephew Justin Jackson and wife Patty.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother; James Challie.

A graveside service was conducted Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Richmond Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY, with Travis Risner  officiating.  Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky in charge of arrangements.
