Betty Jo (Wells) Stephens

Betty Jo Wells Stephens, age 77, of Prestonsburg, KY, widow of Stuart Edward Stephens, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Paintsville, KY.  She was born October 27, 1946 in Prestonsburg, KY, a daughter of the late Eugene and Ollie Goble Wells.  She was a member of the Allen Baptist Church, and formerly employed at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, KY.

She is survived by one son; Ray Eugene (Vanessa) Stephens, Staffordsville, KY, two brothers; Wendell Wells, Prestonsburg, KY, James Wells Shelbyville, KY, three sisters; Carolyn Walters, Wilma Leslie, both of Emma, KY, and Linda Clements, Lexington, KY, four grandchildren; Chara Stephens, Sean Stephens James Preston, Abbygail  Preston.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother; Kenneth Wells.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Ronnie Spriggs and J.M. Sloce officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY. Visitation will be Friday after 5:00 PM .
