Bennie Lee Moore

Bennie Lee Moore, age 89, of Langley, KY husband of the late Daphne Martin Moore, his wife of 65 years, died Sunday, March 31, 2024 in the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born April 1, 1934 Star Bottom-Minnie, KY, a son of the late Beverage "B.V." and Melvina Martin Moore. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served honorably. Bennie was a math professor at Alice Lloyd College, Pippa Passes, KY,  a member of the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church and the Gospel Anchors. He was also a member of the Mathematical Association of America.

He is survived by two sons, Greg (Barbara) Moore, Jeff (Yvette) Moore, Virgie, KY, two daughters; Beverly Moore Scott, Nashville, TN, Shauna Moore, Winchester, KY, four brothers; Budge Moore and Freddie Moore, both of Langley, KY, Kenny Moore and Rodney Moore, both of Garrett, KY, eleven grandchildren; Misty (James) Curry, Heath Scott, Amber (Mark) Purvis, Lisa Ferrell, Tasha Ferrell, Angel Ferrell, Kane Moore, Luke Moore, Alyssa (Cody) Necessary, Kaylee Moore, Ashton Dooley, eight great grandchildren; Brody Curry, Grayson Curry, Adaleigh Scott, Tyresse Scott, Rylan Purvis, Presley Purvis, Bennie Ferrell and Bennett Williams.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Ann Moore, three brothers; Sellmeyer, Tandy and Marvin Moore, three sisters; Sturnell Duff, Sturneth Inman, Ida Mae Moore, and one great grandson; Gage Necessary.

A memorial service is scheduled for a later date by the family.
