Benjamin Burl Boyd

            Benjamin Burl Boyd, age 68 of Dana, KY, fiancée of Melissa Faye Newsome, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at his residence. He was born August 23, 1954 in Martin, KY a son of the late Arley and Emogene Jarrell Boyd. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Hope City Church, Prestonsburg, KY.

            Along with his Fiancée, Benjamin is survived by two daughters: Angelene and Benita Jo Boyd both of Prestonsburg, KY; three step daughters: Jessica Crum, Ivel, KY, Stephanie Newsome, Grethel, KY, Samantha Newsome, Prestonsburg, KY; one brother: Clifton Boyd, Pikeville, KY; two sisters: Caroline Dillon and Arlene Mitchell both of Dana, KY; nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Kody, Jealyn, Brooklin, Cole, Kenzie, Aiden, Coopie, Addy and one great grandchild on the way.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Claudette Ryan Boyd and one brother: TJ Boyd.

            Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 12 noon at the Little Salem Old Regular Baptist Church, Dana, KY. Burial will follow in the Boyd Family Cemetery, Dana, KY and visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
