Belva Jean (Halbert) Crews, age 85, of Ashland, Ky., widow of the late Joe Crews, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Life Care Center of Ooltewah, TN. She was born on June 13, 1940, in Floyd County, KY, a daughter of the late Beriah (Bee) Halbert and Ola B Halbert (Roberts). She was a graduate of Martin High School. Belva was retired from PennCo Inc., where she was the executive secretary to the owner, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her one wonderful daughter Leneda Jo Crews (Craig Robert) Laing, Athens, TN., one special grandson, Westin Joseph Laing (Erika Michelle), and one precious great-granddaughter, Sadie Michelle Laing, Bulls Gap, TN.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray Halbert.
Funeral service for Belva Crews will be conducted Saturday, September 13, at 12 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will follow in the Halbert Family Cemetery, Printer, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
