Banner L. Conn

Banner L. Conn, 87, of Vermilion, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at The Woods on French Creek after a short illness. He was born July 16, 1933 in Dana, KY. He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 65 years moving from Dana, KY.

Banner worked as a carpenter for various companies and also co-owned A and C Builders. He had attended many Regular Baptist Churches including his favorite, Pleasant View Regular Baptist Church, Litchifield. He enjoyed bow hunting, gardening, fishing, carpentry and most of all church.

He is survived by his daughter, Jenifer (John) Wilkerson of Dublin; son, Jeffrey (Angela) Conn of Amherst; grandchildren, Kathryn, Kiley, Colin, Emily, and Hannah; and his great grandchildren, Zoey, Brayden, Charlotte, Bodie, and Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Shelby (nee Castle) Conn; parents, Hiram and Virgie (nee Howell) Conn; brothers, Willie and Ed Conn; sisters, Norma Hall, Nicie Boyd, Junie Boyd, Atcha Gray, Allie Boyd, Frankie Conn, and Helene Akers-Quenin. Friends and family who want to come are welcome to attend, but due to Covid-19, we are asking that people be careful to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and refrain from embracing.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Riddle Funeral Home. Elder Dennis Elkins will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
