Anna Lea (Burke) Thornsbury

Anna Lea Thornsbury 68, of David Kentucky went to rest in the arms of her Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at her residence. She was the cherished wife of John T. Thornsbury ,her husband of 43 years, treasured mother to Jessica.

Anna Lea, lovingly known by many as flea, was born on November 23, 1955 in Fleming-Neon, Ky, to the late Charles Edward and Thelma Burke, where she spent her years in a loving home. Her dad a hard working farmer, coal miner and carpenter and mother a wonderful homemaker and cook. She went on to attended Alice Lloyd College to become Radiology Technician of 40 years, serving her community, of which she was very proud, often telling a beloved story of how her father helped fund her education, as well as other cousins.

But more than anything, Anna was an adored and tremendous mother. She loved spending time with her daughter and husband, being a house wife. She has happiest at home. Taking care of her home and her favorite flower gardens. Being with her family making memories, sharing stories, cooking meals, and watching their favorite TV shows. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced. “She knows how to do everything” She loved her family fervently with her entire heart.

Anna is survived by her loving husband, John T. of David KY, her daughter, Jessica Ann/Terry Burchett of Prestonsburg KY, sister Kathy Ann/ Terry Mullins of Hi-Hat KY, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home, under direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
