Alicetene Ward

It is with deep sorrow that we write the obituary of our Mother and Grandmother. Alicetene Ward, 82, of McDowell, KY, passed away on September 26, 2021.

Alicetene was born on June 23, 1939, to Ralph and Lula Reynolds Newsome in Dony, KY.

In 1963, she met Ray Ward, and they wed in May, going on to have two children, Shearry Rae Ord and Alecia Brown.

Alicetene was predeceased by her husband, Ray Ward, her mother Lula Reynolds Newsome, her father Ralph Newsome, her sisters Mary Lou Walters, Ruth Ann Williams, and Vada Sauvage. She is survived by two daughters, Shearry Rae (Walter) Ord and Alecia (Robert) Brown, three grandchildren, Zachery Kyle Brown, Justin Tyler (Courtney) Brown, and Chelsea Nicole (Kyle) Ray, three great-grandchildren, Aurora Moon Raven Brown, Genesis Star Willow Brown, and Elliot Walker Ray, five sisters and one brother, Inis Jean (Johnny) Grimm, Christine (Phillip) Simpson, Barbara (Cornelius) Tuttle, Brenda (Michael) Henson, Dottie (Ronnie) Spradlin and Ralph Newsome Jr. Alicetene also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as a Daughter and Granddaughter of the heart, Brittany (Warnie) Allen and Bree Allen. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY. There will be a visitation on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 6-9 PM at the funeral home as well as a funeral on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
