Alice (Moore) Lawson

Alice Moore Lawson, age 97, of McDowell, KY, widow of Gene David Lawson, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 29, 1922 in McDowell, KY, a daughter of the late Miles and Alvannie Williams Moore. She was a mother and homemaker.

She is survived by three sons: Paul G. Lawson, Ivel, KY, Danny Michael Lawson, Lexington, KY and David Dean Lawson, McDowell, KY, five daughters; Freda Collier, Columbus, OH, Stella Castle, Wayland, KY, Barbara Reitz, Minnesota, Judy Thornsberry, McDowell, KY and Juanita Hamilton, Grethel, KY, two sisters; Norma Lambert and Josie Lambert, 26 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and a few great-great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Ella Rae Howell and Phyllis Jewell Collier, seven brothers; Edgel, Alan, Earl, Dennis, Eugene, Moses and Carl Dean Moore, two sisters; Alzie Moore and Pauline Stumbo.

Funeral service for Mrs Lawson will be conducted on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Minnie Old Beaver Old Regular Baptist Church, Minnie, KY with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Purple Heart Cemetery, Doty Creek, McDowell, KY. Visitation is after 5 PM Thursday and all day Friday at the church with church services both evenings at 7 PM.
