It is with a broken heart that I, with the help of his family, will try to write his obituary.
Albert Preston King was born April 19, 1931, on Hurricane Creek to John King and Clara Pruitt King. His second birth was when they broke the ice in the freezing creek and was baptized into the New Hope Association of the United Baptist Church.
He left this world to go to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the age of 92.
Albert was married to Laurel Adkins on December 24, 1955. From this union two children were born, Deloris King Knausz (John) and Albert Alan King (Pamela).
He is survived by his helpmate of just under 68 years and his only son. He also leaves three grandchildren - Crystal King Booth (Tim), Daniel Albert Knausz (Jessica), and Jonathan Lowell King (Katelyn), as well as six great grandchildren- Mac, Peyton, Tyler, Maddie, Larkin, and Preston. Also, his son-in-law, John, a special nephew who was like a son, Butch King, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and church family.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, daughter, and twelve siblings; three brothers- John Paul, Bill, Joe, five sisters - Sara, Olga, Gladys, Dolly, Roxie, and four infants who passed in their younger years.
He loved his family and he loved his friends but above all else, with steadfast devotion, God and The Church always came first.
I lost more than a Dad, I lost a great friend. I find comfort in knowing that after all his church works and labor, he’s finally got his penny.
—Written by his son and family
