Warren Blanton

Warren Blanton, age 77, of Allen, KY, husband of Hollie Hall Blanton, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, KY. He was born October 30, 1940 in Oil Springs, KY a son of the late Flem and Helen Trimble Blanton, and stepson of Sina Rice Blanton, Prestonsburg, KY. Warren was a retired Yard Master from CSX after 40 years of service, a Deacon for 32 years at the Third Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, Prestonsburg, a member of the John W. Hall Masonic Lodge for 50 years, Lexington Scottish Rites, El Hasa Shrine, a Kentucky Colonel, and former funeral assistant at Hall Funeral Home.

    Survivors include his wife and step-mother, one son; Warren Kevin (Sharma) Blanton, Georgetown, KY, one sister; Juanita (Jim) McKinney, Louisville, KY, two grandchildren; Joshua Blanton, Peyton Madison Blanton; two great grandchildren; Destiny Faith Blanton, Karlea Blanton, several nieces and nephews; and two special caregivers; Martha Hamilton and Brenda Parsons.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta B. Hunt, whose husband Dale survives.

     Funeral service for Warren Blanton will be conducted Monday, January 1, 2018 at 2 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Phillip Ramey officating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
