Warner Willis Jr., age 92, of Prestonsburg, KY, husband of Janice Ann Burke Willis, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY. He was born December 29, 1926 in Petersburg, IN, to the late Warner and Nancy Pauline Spradlin Willis. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran, former commander of the VFW Prestonsburg, a member of the Auxier DAV and a retired truck driver.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ethel Pauline "Polly" Willis Bradley, Prestonsburg, KY, one step-son, Cooley Jarvis, Crown City, OH, two step-daughters, Joyce Odette Tackett, Wittensville, KY, Linda Tackett-Wright, Prestonsburg, KY, two sisters, Ivanell Wells, Lexington, KY and Peggy Morris, Stanford, KY, five grandchildren; Charles Warner Trenton Bradley, Chance Edwin Bradley, Whitney Austin Bradley, Case Holden Bradley and Rimini-Ashton Bradley Merrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; William "Bill" Willis, David Joe Willis and John Willis.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with James Tackett and Rodney Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY, visitation is from 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
