Sally Lou Shannon Miller, age 85, of Drift, KY, widow of Hugo Miller, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1932 in Weeksbury, KY, a daughter of the late Earl Denver and Zada Artrip Shannon. She was a lay minister and member of the Drift Presbyterian Church, a retired school teacher having taught 30 years in the Floyd County School System, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
She is survived by one son; Dr. Jeffry Shannon (Fonda) Miller, Waldo, AR, one daughter; Kimberly Jo Miller, Burlington, Ontario, five grandchildren; Thomas Jeffry Miller, Aaron Christopher Miller, Kathryn Elizabeth Miller, Joel Isaac Miller and Jacob Andrew Miller, three great grandchildren; Isabella McKeen, Jason Hugo Miller and Zada Louise Miller.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother; Donald Ray Shannon and one sister; Betty Sue Tackett.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dickie Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Drift Cemetery, Drift, KY, visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with church service at 7 p.m., under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
