Raymond Parsons

Raymond Parsons, age 85, of Grethel, KY, husband of the late Lorine Newsome Parsons, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.  He was born July 24, 1932 in Floyd County, KY, a son of the late Jim Bob and Jane Hamilton Parsons.  He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his son; Raven (McCoy) Parsons, Grethel, KY, two brothers; Bill Parsons, Grethel, KY and Donald Ray Parsons, Pikeville, KY ,one sister; Laura Ward, Waverly, OH, five grandchildren; Misty, Lee, Dewayne, Brad and Jamie, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his daughter; Janet Newsome, three brothers; Effort, Bert and Clenion Parsons, five sisters; Edna Rogers, Love Akers, Carrie Hall, Lizzie Ward and Tava Moore, and special dog; Tiny Brown.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parsons Family Cemetery, Frasures Branch, Grethel, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with church service at 7 p.m., under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
