Meredith (Allen) Biel

Meredith Allen Biel, age 85, of Langley, KY, formerly of NY, widow of Dr. Paul Biel, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 in the Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hazard, KY. She was born February 3, 1934 in Magoffin County, KY, a daughter of the late Jesse and Dallis Shepherd Allen. She worked as an RN for 30 years at the Southside Hospital, NY and after returning to Kentucky as store manager for the E.P. Grigsby Store, Martin, KY.

She is survived by one brother: Earl Allen, Scarborough, Maine, two sisters; Lorraine Ratliff, Clearwater, FL and Ida Miles, Alta Monte, FL, three grandchildren; William Biel Farley, Rebecca Farley, Gregory Earl Biel Farley, two great grandchildren; Sophia Jessica Hotchkiss and Terrente Hotchkiss.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Robert Otis Whitt, one daughter; Jessica Biel Farley Babylon and one sister; Minnie Irizarry.

A memorial gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3, 2019, from 5 until 7 PM at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
