John Henry Hale

John Henry Hale, age 85, of Hueysville, KY, husband of Hala M. Prater Hale, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in the UK Bluegrass Hospice Center, Lexington, KY. He was born September 8, 1933 in Brushy, KY, a son of the late Winfield and Stella Bradley Hale. He was a faithful servant of the Lord, attended the Old Regular Baptist Church and was a retired well-meter operator for Inland/Columbia Gas Co after 36 years of service.

In addition to his wife, Hala, he is survived by five children: Sheri (Darrell) Ratliff, Hager Hill, KY, Richard Dan Hale, Gwendolyn (Arnold) Prater, Pamela (Timothy) Prater, all of Hueysville, KY, Freda (Kelvin) Blevins, of Langley, KY, nine siblings: Edith Mae Holbrook, Ella Faye Back, Gladys (Bobby) Shepherd, James (Louetta) Hale, Arnold Hale, Julia (Ray) Shepherd, Joyce Duff, Donny (Melissa) Hale and Danny (Donna) Hale, 10 grandchildren: Brittany Blevins, Kelsey Blevins, Bryce Ratliff, Shawn Prater, Hailey Blevins, Wesley Prater, Linsey Blevins, Sadie Prater, Brayden Prater and Baylee Prater.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Frank and Herman Hale and one sister; Nadine Hale Manns.

Funeral service for Mr. Hale will be conducted on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater Cemetery, Hueysville, KY. Visitation after 6 PM Friday and all day Saturday at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.

Pallbearers: Bryce Ratliff, Shawn Prater, Wesley Prater, Brayden Prater, Danny Prater, Brian Prater, Bradley Prater, Dylan Caudill.
