John Kenneth Burchett

John Kenneth Burchett, age 79, of Prestonsburg, KY,  husband of Lucille Blackburn Burchett, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1939 in Prestonsburg, a son of the late John Wess and Elsie Goble Burchett. John was a retired coal miner, a UMWA member, and a member of the Benedict Baptist Church.

  In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, John Keith Burchett, two daughters; Barbara (Bobby) Mitchell, and Teresa (Benjie) Stewart, all of Prestonsburg, two brothers; Eddie Burchett and Freddie Burchett, both of  Prestonsburg, one sister; Martha Marsh, Prestonsburg, five grandchildren; Jason Keathely, Chad Keathley, Billy Mitchell, Rachel Pennington, John Paul Burchett, four great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lydia McGlone.

   Funeral service for John Kenneth Burchett will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 1 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Bill Collins and James Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the John Kenneth Burchett family cemetery, Prestonsburg, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
