Jody Samons

             Jody Samons, age 56, of Minnie, KY, husband of Betty Samons, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.  He was born May 3, 1951 in McDowell, KY, a son of the late Grover and Elfriede Bruning Samons.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, McDowell and a coal operator.

             In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by one son; Jason (Drema) Samons, Lexington, KY and one daughter; Amanda Samons, Langley, KY, one brother; Tony Samons, Lexington, KY, one sister; Rita (Kevin) Daniels, Minnie, KY, six grandchildren; Liam, M.J., Amelia, Roman, Brooklyn and Bryson.

               He was preceded in death by his parents.

            Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, McDowell, KY.  Burial will follow in the Lucy Hall Cemetery, McDowell, KY, visitation is after 6 Sunday and all day Monday at the funeral home with church service Monday at 7 p.m., under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
