Joan Slone

Joan Slone, age 68, of Hi Hat, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital, McDowell, KY.  She was born November 21, 1950 in Ligon, KY, a daughter of the late Virgil and Joyce Ray Slone.  She was a member of the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church.

She is survived by two brothers; Virgil (Robin) Slone Jr., Meally, KY and Lowell Vernon (Ruth) Slone, Hazard, two sisters; Henrietta (Jimmy) Gibson, Ligon, KY and Debbie Slone, Hi Hat, KY, several nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister; Joetta Salisbury.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church, Teaberry, KY, with the Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery, Hi Hat, KY, visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the church, under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
