James Thomas Burchett

James Thomas Burchett, age 62, of Martin, KY, husband of Sharlene Samons Burchett, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 8, 1956, a son of the late Flem and Huldia Boyd Burchett. He was a tree trimmer for Asplundh and attended the Arkansas Creek Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, Sharlene, he is survived by two sons: Bobby Hopson and James Anthoney (Ashley) Burchett, both of Martin, KY, one daughter; Pamela (Ronnie) Samons, Allen, KY, two brothers; Bradis (Gracie) Burchett, David, KY and Raymond (Roxie) Akers, Pritchard, WV, five sisters; Etta Faye Whitt, WV, Dixie (Jim) Catterton, IN, Pearl (Arnold) Mulkey, Betsy Layne, KY, Margaret (Hazie) Boyd, Banner, KY, Barb (Gordon) Williams, Dwale, KY and four grandchildren; Elizabeth, Makayla and Ronnie Samons and Josh Hopson.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Sarah Elizabeth Burchett, one brother; Wendell Burchett and one sister; Tavia Nunemaker.

Funeral service for James will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 30 in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Samons and Roy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Samons Family Cemetery, Arkansas Creek, Martin, KY. Visitation is 6 PM on Friday at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
