Hugh Sammons

      Hugh Sammons, age 59, of  Prestonsburg,, husband of Katherine Huff Sammons, died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 10, 1959 in Paintsville, KY a son of the late Sol and Verdia Carr Sammons. Hugh was a Certified Professional Engineer, a retired Operations Engineer for the Kentucky Department of Transportation and member of the Cow Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

      In addition to his wife he is survived by two step-daughters, Melodie Patton and Crystal Combs, both of  Prestonsburg, KY, two brothers; Sol Sammons Jr. and Epp Banks, Jr., both of Prestonsburg, KY, two sisters; Joan Spaulding, Harrodsburg, KY, Wanda June Lowe, Prestonsburg, KY and four grandchildren; Austin Patton, Matthew Patton, Alexis L. Miller and Hunter LeMaster.

      Funeral service for Hugh Sammons will be conducted Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Nathan Lafferty and Bill Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
