Herman Johnson, age 78, of Hi Hat, KY, husband of the late Maggie Vicars Johnson, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2018 at the Hazard ARH, Hazard, KY. He was born December 24, 1939 in Hi Hat, KY, a son of the late Bish and Fronnie Newman Johnson. He was a repairman in the coal mines and a member of the Burton Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by one son: Robert "Robbie" (Karma "Karmel") Johnson, Virgie, KY, three daughters; Renee Johnson, Hi Hat, KY, Anita Vicars (Joe) Spradlin, Denver, KY and Janet Leigh (Mike) Lord, Beaver, KY, one sister; Eula Faye Johnson, Frankfort, KY eight grandchildren; Maggie Lou Johnson, Harlie Rene Ward, Jonathan and Sara Lieghann Cochran, Johnny and Michael Fraley, Becky Whitt and Danya Anderson, eight great grandchildren; Addison Rose, Tierra, Madison, Kylie, J.D., Breanna, Brett and Matt. special son-in-law; Nathan Cochran, special daughter; Cynthia Mullins, like brothers; Rufus Johnson and Harold Ray Moore.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Curt, Charlie, Hershel and Earl Ray Johnson, five sisters; Florence "Boe" Johnson, Lonnie Keene, Sadie Long, Freda May Johnson, Lorie Moore.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, Wheelwright, KY. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery, Meade Hollow, Hi Hat, KY. Visitation is 6 PM Thursday and all day Friday at the Church in Wheelwright, under the kind and professional care of Hall Funeral Home.
