Georgia (Collins) Stapleton

Georgia Stapleton, age 98, of Wayland, KY, widow of Bert Randall Stapleton, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Jonas and Mary Patrick Collins in Lackey, KY. Georgia was a former school teacher and secretary for National Mines and a member of the Wayland Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons: Robert "Greg" (Sandy) Stapleton, Wayland, KY, and William "Bill" (Teresa) Stapleton, Williamson, WV, six grandchildren; Katherine Jill Brashear, Christina Wilson, Kelli Kilburn, Zachary Hamilton, Amber Stapleton, Mackenzie Browning, seven great grandchildren; Bailey, Chloe, Maddox, Madeline, Paxton, Mileigh and Abbi.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bert Randall, she was preceded in death by one son: James Douglas Stapleton, four brothers; Gordon, Gorman, Charles and James Collins and one sister; Josephine Evans.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones-Collins Cemetery, Lackey, KY. Visitation is Saturday 6-10 PM and Sunday 10 AM-10 PM at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
