Elbert “Red” Lawson, age 82, of Pikeville, KY, husband of the late Frankie Helene Mullins Lawson, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1937 in Honaker, KY, a son of the late Green and Zeola Stanfred Lawson. He was a member of the Mouth of Mud Church of Christ, where he was the preacher over 40 years and a coal miner.
He is survived by three sons: Glenn Lawson, Harold, KY, Ronnie Lawson, Pikeville, KY and William Dale Lawson, Charleston, WV., one daughter; Rhonda Sue Bailey, Prestonsburg, KY, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Faye and Green Lawson, Jr. and one sister; Frankie Case.
Funeral service for “Red” will be conducted at 12 noon on Friday, September 27 at the Mouth of Mud Church of Christ, Harold, KY with Steve Case and Johnny Pugh officiating and song leader, Larry Case. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, KY. Visitation is after 6 PM Wednesday and all day Thursday at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY and after 10 AM Friday at the church.
