Edward Glen Hale, Sr., age 86, of St Helen, MI, went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2018. Glen was born March 1, 1932 to Andy and Anzie Sloan Hale in Floyd County, KY. Glen and Opal married on November 14, 1950 at the young ages of 18 and 16. Glen retired from General Motors Corporation in Pontiac, MI with 30 years of service. Glen traveled the U.S.A. with Opal until settling in Summerfield, FL, where Glen retired from Wynn Dixie grocery store with 23 years of service. Glen and Opal came home to St. Helen, MI to live their golden years in their knotty pine home they built together.
Edward Glen is survived by his four children: Debby DeHaven (Dale), Sheila Arnett (Michael), Edward Hale, Jr. and Michael Hale; ten grandchildren, twenty- one great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren with whom Glens love and laughter was shared and felt with each one of them.
Preceding him in death, his loving wife, Opal; parents, Andy and Anzie Hale; two brothers: Oscar and Marcus Hale; four sisters: Willadean Collins, Erma Smotherman, Martha Howard and Mary Sue Brown.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Ball Branch Old Regular Baptist Church, Mousie, KY with the Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Stephens Whitaker Family Cemetery, Hueysville, KY. Visitation will be from 3 - 7 PM on Friday at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
