Edna Blanch Lewis, age 75, of Banner, KY, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019 at her residence. She was born January 20, 1944 in Floyd County, KY, a daughter of the late Charles Buster and Blanch Robinson Smith. She was manager for the IGA grocery store and a member of the Katy Friend Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Donna Lynn (Scott) Reed and Michelle Leigh (William "Bub") Boyd, both of Banner, KY, three brothers; Larry Smith, Banner, Carl Smith, Pikeville, KY, Kyle Smith, Allen, KY, six sisters; Mary Nichols, Marion, OH, Gretchen Burkett, Banner, Teresa Carroll, Banner, Lettie Kinzer, Prestonsburg, KY, Tammy Conn, Allen, KY and Kathy Lewis, Allen, KY, 14 grandchildren; Ashley, Amy, Ryan, Tyler, Brady, Gracie, Chris, Austin, MaKala, Stevie, Kenzie, Avery, Jayce and Chase, 7 great grandchildren; Kailey, Alexis, Abby, Gavin, Aiden, Ashton and Addylynn as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
In addition to her children, she also took Nancy Boyd, Hershell Conley and Missy Lewis (deceased) under her wings at an early age after the passing of their mother. She thought of them as her own children and they loved her as their other mother.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter: Kimberly Dawn Hall, one brother; James Henry "Jim" Smith and one sister; Nellie Click.
Funeral service for Ms. Edna Lewis will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019 in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny Boyd and James Michael Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery, Daniels Creek, Banner, KY. Visitation is after 5:00 pm on Wednesday and all day Thursday at Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
