Edith Burdell (Stratton) Steele

Edith Burdell Steele, age 87, of Harold, KY, widow of Clifton Steele, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at her residence.  She was born June 20, 1930 in Betsy Layne, KY, a daughter of the late Sparell and Flora Wright Stratton.  She was a member of the Betsy Layne Church of Christ and a retired book keeper.

She is survived by her daughter; Jane Ann (Ricky) Roberts, Harold, KY, two sisters; Betty Flannery, Martin, KY and Rose Mary Meade, Betsy Layne, KY and one grandson; Cody Roberts.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by six brothers; Henry, Russell, Ted, Roy,  Richard "Dee", and Paul Stratton and three sisters; Josephine Inmon, Octavia Cooley and Virginia Harris.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Betsy Layne Church of Christ, with a church service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Tommy Spears will officiate. A private graveside service will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.in the Steele Family Cemetery, Harold, KY.
