Edgar Lee Rister

Edgar Lee Rister, age 80, of Garrett, KY husband of Gloria Faye Slone Rister, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Riverview Health Care Center, Prestonsburg, KY. He was born August 29, 1937 in Lowmansville, KY a son of the late Frank and Maudie Ramey Rister.

He was a retired Supervisor for Kentucky West Virginia Gas, having  been employed with them for 35 yrs., a US Army veteran, Past Master and 50 year member of the James W. Alley Masonic Lodge #869, a Kentucky Colonel, former assigning secretary for the 15th region basketball officials, a member of the Garrett First Baptist Church being baptized in 1990 and ordained as a Deacon in 1992.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Mike (Belinda) Rister, Nashville, TN one daughter; Barb (Greg) Davis, David, KY one brother;  Jack (Artie) Rister, two sisters; Trish Tuttle and Betty (Willie) Chambers, one granddaughter; Brittany Raelea Davis, her fiance Aaron Thompson, and one step-grandson, Cole Combs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

 Funeral service for Edgar Lee Rister will be conducted Friday, July 27 at 3 PM in the Hall Funeral Home, Maritn, with Randy Osborne and Blaine Depoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, David, KY, visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Masonic Service at 7 p.m., under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
