Earl Edsel Moore, 84 of Wimauma, Fla passed away August 18, 2018. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the American Legion and Big Sandy Chapter, Kentucky Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was past president of the Travelers Protective Association. A 50 year Life Member of the Grand Lodge of Masons of Florida. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge F & AM in Frankfort, KY, Oleika Shrine Temple, Lexington, Ky, Araba Shrine Temple, Naples, Fla, Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa, Fla, Grand Order of Jesters, and Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Hiram Lodge, Frankfort, KY, Sun City Center Shrine Temple, Sun City Center, Fla, and a member of Frankfort Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar, Frankfort, Ky. He retired as Director of Consumer Product Safety for the State of Kentucky and the Federal Government.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Katherine Akers Moore, two daughters, Donna Lynn Moore and her significant other, Bob Anastasio; Darlene Kay Bussell and her significant other, Rex Stevens; a grandson, Jonathan Blake Clatworthy and his wife, Whitney; two great grandsons, Brantley and Lukas, and by his sister, Evelyn Stephens. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Dianne Benton and by his brother, Gordon Moore.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 31 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m., visitation will also be from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, Saturday, Sept 1, 2018 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, Sept 1, 2018 at Kerr Funeral Home, Lexington, KY. Burial will follow at the Moore Family Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-941 Graveside Military service will be conducted Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Moore Family Cemetery, Prestonsburg, KY, under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, KY.
