Charlotte Gayle (Blackburn) George

Charlotte Gayle George, age 67, of Prestonsburg, wife of Gerald George, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.  She was born November 9, 1952 in Salem, OH, a daughter of the late Archel and Emma Jean Lewis Blackburn.  She was a member of the Highland Avenue Freewill Baptist Church,  a former beautician, former President of the Floyd County Democratic Women's Club and a former state level officer of the Democrat Woman's Club of Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband; Gerald; son; Jason Eric (Tabitha) George, Prestonsburg, brother; Rodney Blackburn, Prestonsburg, sister; Debbie Burns, Columbus, OH, two grandchildren; Michael Brant and Hayley Nicole George.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son; Gerald Michael George, five brothers; Stevie, Scottie, Gary, Paul and Keith Blackburn.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg.  Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, under the professional and dignified care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.
